Collection: Even in the Wilderness

This collection was completed for a group show titled "Even in the Wilderness." The paintings included in this show grew out of my meditations on Isaiah 35 as well as Ezekiel 47, a vision of a river flowing from the presence of God, bringing life and flourishing to barren lands. These passages became my prayer in moments when weariness and sorrow weighed heavily against hope. While these paintings were drawn from observation of four different locations, viewed together they can be considered as varied perspectives of one imagined place: a garden fed by a river in the wilderness, where life presses back against death.
